Summary
Easy Image Downloader (the “Extension”) is published by Revshare (“we,” “us”). The Extension runs entirely inside your browser. It has no backend service, no user accounts, no analytics and no advertising.
We do not collect, transmit, sell or share any user data. The Extension never sends your browsing activity, the images it finds, your settings, or any other information to us or to anyone else. There is no server to send it to.
The only information the Extension keeps is a small amount of data stored locally in your own browser so the tool can work — described in full below. You can erase it at any time from the Extension's menu, and it is removed completely when you uninstall the Extension.
Data We Collect: None
For the avoidance of doubt, and using the categories defined by the Chrome Web Store, the Extension does not collect or transmit any of the following:
- Personally identifiable information — no name, address, email, age or ID number;
- Health information;
- Financial or payment information;
- Authentication information — no passwords, credentials, security questions or PINs;
- Personal communications — no email, SMS or chat messages;
- Location — no region, GPS coordinates or IP-based location;
- Web history — no list of pages you have visited is sent anywhere;
- User activity — no click, mouse, scroll or keystroke monitoring;
- Website content — no text, images, audio or video are uploaded anywhere.
The Extension contains no analytics library, no tracking pixel, no telemetry and no crash reporting.
What Is Stored On Your Device
To do its job, the Extension keeps the following in your browser's own extension storage. None of it is readable by us or by any website.
(1) Your settings. Stored persistently until you change or remove them:
- Display preferences such as thumbnail size and which badges are shown;
- Download preferences — ZIP bundling, file numbering, compression quality, and whether downloads should ask for a filename;
- Your saved filters (include and exclude URL patterns, minimum dimensions, file types);
- Whether the on-page hover buttons are enabled, and any sites you switched them off for.
(2) The image list for open tabs. While a tab is open, the Extension records the URLs, file types and sizes of the images that tab has loaded, plus any images you selected. This is held in session storage and is erased automatically when you close the browser, close the tab, or navigate away (unless you switch on “Persist across pages”).
(3) Favicons, only if you ask for it. The optional “Persist favicons” setting is off by default. If you turn it on, the Extension remembers the hostnames of sites you visit together with their favicon URLs, so it can bundle them per website when you download favicons. This list stays on your device, is capped at the 300 most recent sites, and is deleted immediately when you switch the setting off.
Permissions & Why They Are Needed
Chrome requires the Extension to declare the capabilities it uses. Each one is used only for the purpose described here:
- webRequest — reads the response headers of image requests in the active tab to learn which images the page loaded, and their type and size. No request is ever blocked, modified, redirected or logged.
- scripting — runs a scan inside the current page to find images in the document (including
srcset, CSS backgrounds and favicons) and to draw the on-page hover buttons and viewer. - downloads — saves the files you choose to your download folder.
- storage — keeps your settings and the per-tab image list described above.
- offscreen — builds the ZIP file and performs optional image compression in a hidden document, because a service worker cannot use a canvas.
- tabs — identifies the active tab so the image list matches the page you are looking at.
- Access to all websites — images can appear on any site and are usually served from third-party CDNs, so the Extension must be able to read image data from whatever origins the page loads from. This access is used only to find and fetch images.
Network Requests
The Extension makes network requests for exactly one reason: to fetch an image you asked to download, preview or compress. Those requests go to the website the image is already hosted on — the same address your browser used to display it — and they use your browser's existing session so that images on sites you are logged into can be saved.
The Extension makes no requests to Revshare, and no requests to any analytics, advertising or third-party service. It contains no remote code: every script it runs ships inside the extension package.
Your Downloads
Files you download are handled by Chrome's own download system and saved to the location you have configured in your browser. The Extension does not read your download history, does not open saved files, and does not keep a copy of anything you downloaded.
Your Control & Choices
- Erase everything the Extension has stored — use “Reset saved images” at the bottom of the Extension menu to clear all captured image lists, selections and previews.
- Stop image capture — turn the main switch off; the Extension stops recording anything.
- Turn off the on-page buttons — globally, or for individual sites, from the gear icon on the hover buttons.
- Forget remembered favicons — switch “Persist favicons” off and the stored list is deleted.
- Remove everything — uninstalling the Extension deletes all of its stored data from your browser.
Third Parties
We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties. We do not use or transfer user data for any purpose unrelated to the Extension's single purpose, and we never use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes. No third-party service processes data on our behalf in connection with the Extension, because no data is collected in the first place.
Children's Privacy
The Extension is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.
Changes to This Policy
If the Extension's behaviour changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the date above. Material changes — in particular any change to what is stored or transmitted — will be reflected here before the updated version is published to the Chrome Web Store.
