When affiliates apply to join your program, their applications appear in your dashboard. Each application contains detailed information about the affiliate, their promotion methods, and their history with other programs.
Understanding how to review applications helps you make informed decisions about who should join your affiliate program and ensures you work with partners who align with your brand values.
What are Affiliate Applications?
An affiliate application is created when someone requests to join your affiliate program. The application includes all the information the affiliate provided during registration, such as their contact details, promotion methods, websites, and payout preferences.
Applications appear in your dashboard under the Applications section. If you have manual approval enabled, applications will be in a pending state until you review and approve or reject them. With auto-approval enabled, applications are automatically approved, but you can still view them for reference.
Viewing Applications
To view affiliate applications:
- Navigate to your dashboard and click on "Applications" in the sidebar.
- You'll see a list of all applications, including pending, approved, and rejected applications.
- Click on any application to view its detailed information.
- Use the search and filter options to find specific applications quickly.
Each application card shows key information at a glance, such as the affiliate's name, email, application date, and status. Clicking on an application opens the detailed view where you can see all available information.
Application Details
The application detail page provides comprehensive information about each affiliate applicant. This information is organized into several sections to help you make an informed decision.
You can navigate between applications using the breadcrumb navigation or the back button. Keyboard shortcuts are also available—press "B" to go back to the applications list.
Affiliate Information
The Affiliate Information section displays basic details about the applicant:
- Name — The affiliate's full name or business name.
- Email — Contact email address for the affiliate.
- Country — The affiliate's location, displayed with a country flag.
- Profile Type — Whether they registered as an individual or a company.
- Signed up — When the affiliate created their account on Revshare.
- Applied to program — When they submitted their application to your specific program.
This information helps you understand who the affiliate is and when they joined. The profile image or initial avatar is also displayed for easy identification.
Company Details
If the affiliate selected a company profile type, you'll see additional company information:
- Legal Company Name — The official registered name of the business.
- Business Address — The company's registered address.
- Business Tax ID — Tax identification number for the business.
This information is particularly useful for compliance and tax purposes, especially if you need to issue invoices or work with business affiliates.
Promotion Methods
The application shows how the affiliate plans to promote your products or services:
- Promotion Notes — A description of how they plan to advertise your brand, including their marketing strategies and channels.
- Websites — Links to their websites, blogs, or platforms where they'll promote your products. These may include their main website, blog, or other promotional platforms.
- Social Media Profiles — Their social media handles and accounts, including Twitter/X, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other platforms. Handles are displayed in a user-friendly format (e.g., @username).
Reviewing promotion methods helps you ensure that affiliates will represent your brand appropriately and reach your target audience. Visit their websites and check their social media presence to assess quality and alignment with your brand values.
Performance History
If the affiliate has been part of other programs on Revshare, you can see their performance history:
- Sales History — Whether they've generated sales for other programs. This is indicated with a checkmark if they have sales history, or an X if they haven't generated sales yet.
- Leads History — Whether they've generated leads for other programs. Similar to sales, this shows their track record with lead generation.
While performance history can be a useful indicator, keep in mind that new affiliates may not have a history yet. Consider their promotion methods, website quality, and social media presence when evaluating new affiliates.
Reviewing Applications
When reviewing applications, consider the following factors:
- Website Quality — Visit their websites to assess content quality, design, traffic potential, and audience alignment with your target market.
- Social Media Presence — Check their social media profiles for follower count, engagement rates, content quality, and audience demographics.
- Promotion Methods — Ensure their planned promotion methods align with your brand values and marketing guidelines. Verify they won't use spammy tactics or misrepresent your products.
- Legitimacy — Verify that their information appears legitimate and matches their online presence. Check for consistency across platforms.
- Previous Performance — If available, review their performance history with other programs to gauge their effectiveness and reliability.
- Compliance — Ensure they can comply with your terms of service and any industry-specific requirements.
Take your time to thoroughly review each application. A well-vetted affiliate can bring significant value to your program, while a poorly vetted one may harm your brand reputation.
Tip: Set clear guidelines for what you're looking for in affiliates and communicate these in your program description. This helps attract the right applicants and makes your review process more efficient.
Approving or Rejecting Applications
After reviewing an application, you can approve or reject it directly from the application detail page:
- Approve — Click the "Approve" button to accept the application. The affiliate immediately gains access to your program, receives their unique referral links, and can start promoting your products.
- Reject — Click the "Reject" button to decline the application. The affiliate is notified that their application was not accepted. They won't have access to your program, but they can reapply in the future if circumstances change.
Before confirming your decision, a dialog will appear asking you to confirm. This prevents accidental approvals or rejections. Once confirmed, the action is processed immediately.
After approving or rejecting an application, you'll be redirected back to the applications list. The application status will be updated, and you can filter applications by status to see pending, approved, or rejected applications.
Note: If you have manual approval enabled, applications remain pending until you take action. With auto-approval enabled, applications are automatically approved, but you can still view them and suspend affiliates later if needed.
